Release Notes for WinRecs Version 300.2.0

Release Date: September 28, 2023
The 300.2.0 Fiscal Release includes Problem fixes and Table updates.

This release is cumulative only after the most recent WinRecs Update has been applied however the update must be applied on minimal version 300.0.0 or greater.

Important:

This release includes a CMG update - Clients should regroup all 2023 DAD abstracts. Clients do not have to send corrections to CIHI. (Ticket Number 21644).

This release includes a RPG grouper update - clients should regroup all assessments from 2018 to current.  Clients do not have to send corrections to CIHI. (Ticket Number 21638)


After all releases have been applied sites with CACS and/or CMG groupers should have all coders check to ensure they can see grouper values in the visits. For Citrix clients this should be confirmed on all Citrix IP addresses. If grouper values are not displaying on a workstation/s please go to ftp://ftp.med2020.ca/Winrecs2/Tools/ and download the file called regasm.zip. Extract the file to the desktop/s of the affected computer/s. Double click the file; a black window will flash, and the process is complete. This will register the grouper dll.

In the Edits Management Tool, in a multiform such as diagnosis, if an edit is created when the same code is entered in more than one occurrence, the edit will generate and clear when duplicate value is deleted.

NRS: Diagnostic Condition Codes (ICD10) Descriptions Not Displaying Correctly
Diagnostic Condition Codes (ICD10) Descriptions were not displaying correctly - some descriptions were cut off at the beginning of the description. This issue has been resolved and the descriptions will now display correctly.

Incorrect NRS RPG Weight on change of RCG in Discharge
An issue was found on the RPG grouper when the RCG was changed on discharge.  The grouper was using the admission RCG, Admission FIM and Admission Age for the discharge assessment. The grouper has been modified to now use the discharge RCG, Admission FIM and Admission Age on for the grouper methodology on Discharge Assessments.

As per CIHI if the health condition is completely changed then the coding guideline is that the patient should be discharged from the first admission and readmitted with the second admission (with the correct RCG).

Important:  Clients should regroup NRS assessments from 2018 to current assessments after applying this update.

CMG2023 Grouper Update Version 1.1
CIHI has updated two methodology tables for CMG+ 2023 to include a few ICD-10-CA codes introduced in fiscal year 2022 and were inadvertently missed in the initial 2023 CMG methodology provided to the vendors for 2023 Fiscal updates.
Version 1.1 release includes:
• CMG_SPLIT_DIAG – this table has been updated to include the following 3 ICD-10-CA codes. Diagnosis Code Diagnosis Description I5010 - Left ventricular failure with preserved ejection fraction, I5011 -Left ventricular failure with reduced ejection fraction, I5019- Left ventricular failure, unspecified
• COMORBIDITY_INTERACTION – this table has been updated to include interactions for 16 ICD-10-CA codes in Category F12 Mental and behavioral disorders due to use of cannabinoids; 48 rows were added to the table.

Important:  Clients should regroup all 2023 DAD Abstracts.

The CCM View was duplicating records caused by the StagingRequired without using the StagingVersion.  This has been fixed so it only returns one unique record.

In the I10_Abstracting and I10_Amcare views, the fields Batch Year, Batch Period and BatchPeriod_BC returns values for submitted and not submitted visits.

WinRecs did not retain a default of 0 for Total Days Away from Bed in the control file. The default value of 0 will now be retained.
